DEEPLY Appoint Whiteroom For New Retail Store Concept

Whiteroom are pleased and excited to announce that we have been selected to design and implement a completely new retail store concept for the DEEPLY surf brand in Portugal. The whole retail team at Whiteroom worked extremely hard understanding the DNA of the DEEPLY boardsports culture and their consumers that practice and enjoy surfing.

The result was the creation of a retail environment and experience that truly attracts and engages these consumers. Following an intense contest, we are now working on the second stage of this project with retail stores looking to make an appearance in Portuguese shopping centres as early as March next year.

We invited 3 agencies to pitch — our current agency, a local architectural practice and Whiteroom. Unlike Whiteroom, our current agency and the architects were very familiar with the DEEPLY brand and product offering.

Despite that, the outstanding proposal presented by Whiteroom clearly demonstrated a detailed understanding of the DEEPLY brand & product offering and illustrated a high level of commitment to the project — right from the initial briefing to the pitch presentation.

We are looking forward to working together with Whiteroom over the coming months and are excited to deliver the first DEEPLY Brand Store experience.

DEEPLY Brand Manager

DEEPLY currently sell their products to Sport Zone — the largest chain of sports shops in Portugal. Sport Zone is part of the Sonae retail portfolio, who have over 40,000 employees and retail operations in 60 counties. Deeply has been identified as a brand that has vast potential as a global retailer, offering boardsport fashion and performance wear to the mass market.

Ambassadors such as Vasco Ribeiro (World Junior Surf Champion 2015) are rising fast through the rankings, and are helping drive brand awareness and conversations worldwide about Deeply.

This momentum is set to continue with a full e-commerce website and high volume consumer experience stores starting in Portugal — then worldwide.
